Testimonials

Jennifer Lynch – Teacher and extra-curricular  coordinator – Roslyn Park college

“Thank you for facilitating such a great workshop for our students. They have benefitted so much over the four weeks. The feedback was extremely positive and they felt that is was one of the most beneficial programmes they have attended throughout the year”.

Blaithin Murphy assistant vice principal and TY year head – Kishoge Commuity College Lucan

“Thanks to Derek and Nicola from Winning Minds and Waverley Academy who attended our school recently. They spoke to a TY ‘Beauty Care’ class. They gave a wonderful hour long class: Derek spoke about ‘Beauty Within’ – such an important topic for the youth of today. It really struck a chord among the student group. Nicola then spoke about how the students can look after their skin and care for their skin needs. She gave them an insight into the courses that are held into the college which they found really interesting. We could have had them stay far longer than an hour. Thanks guys”

Tara Healy. Teacher and co organisor of positive mental wellbeing events St Raphael’s College -Galway

“Thank you for taking the time to visit St Raphael’s College during our Wellness Week which was themed ‘This Is Me- Empower Your Voice’. We truly appreciate your hard work and dedication, assisting us in our efforts to enrich and empower the lives of our students”.

Shauna Gallagher – Teacher – Rosary College Crumlin – (field trip to Waverley Academy)

‘From the moment we contacted the Waverley Academy we were met with a warm and sincere welcome and briefed on what to expect on our visit; the talk itself was informative and engaging and this was directly attributed to the owner and director of the Academy Derek –  a humble and gracious man who motivated the students with anecdotes and  real life examples that showcased the importance of self-belief and well-being. The students were encouraged to come prepared and ask as many valid questions in  relation to the courses provided at the academy. Overall we (teacher/SNA/students) all found the visit to be informative, useful, and most importantly uplifting’.

John Byrne – Lecturer – Institute Technology Blanchardstown

Derek introduced the students to some wonderful coping techniques for careers and education aimed at developing positive mental health. These strategies, in conjunction with Derek’s sharing of his personal journey, ensured an insightful and memorable learning experience for our students”.

All talks and workshops can be tailored to suit requirements of classes and/or curriculum .
